To keep the pool trustworthy. We manually review every account so that only real, aged Product Hunt profiles get in. Brand-new or suspicious accounts are rejected — this protects everyone from bots and fake accounts.
An admin reviews each application manually, usually within 24 hours. Just log back in and check your status page — the moment your account moves from "Pending" to "Approved" you can start adding your product.
Never at match time. A credit is deducted only after both makers confirm they've supported each other and the match is marked as successfully completed. If one side never completes, no credit is spent.
It's up to you. Most makers chat, share honest feedback, and take a genuine look at each other's work. Both sides agree on what they'll do and confirm once they've connected.
